We designed our cozy cottage kitchen using experience as our guide

Our love of cooking evolved into wonderfully relaxing afternoons away from the city.

When we really thought about how we gather, how we cook and what we love to do at the cottage our choices became clear.

Winter is a special time to enjoy the warmth of sharing meals together.

Making time together is what winter cottaging is all about! Letting children in on the fun is a large part of that. In this spirit, we knew a spacious kitchen, featuring both a handy pantry and an expansive island was the way to go.

We asked Patrick of CedarCoast to help map the most convenient pathways of appliances, countertops, cupboards ...and seating for company to keep our kitchen as an integral part of our living space. So, the manner in which we worked our way through a recipe played a large part in our design choices.

Bringing the whole family together sounds great, until you have your kids, grandkids perhaps, cousins and friends at the cottage together, all begging for kid-friendly meals and snacks.
