Cottage Construction Begins on Lake Muskoka

'How do we do it' videos show CedarCoast Partner, Patrick Bongers and Site Supervisor, Ryan as they begin constructing this beautiful Walkers Point cottage.  

Lake Muskoka BASEMENTS 

This video shows one of the challenges of foundation work, blasting bedrock, then rocks are dropped into waiting trucks. Clearing the site prepares for the construction of this lakeside cottage, designed with a full walk out basement.

Lake Muskoka BEDROCK 

Patrick explains that water is always an issue because it seeps continuously through the bedrock. He shows why all drainage, stone and foundation efforts must be handled with experience and great care.

Lake Muskoka MIXING CONCRETE   

Patrick and Ryan show a cool way to mix concrete right at the site. Benefits include saving excess concrete from landfills, while allowing for a variety of  additives (like colour) to be included. Shoutout to Eek & Son Concrete.

Lake Muskoka FOUNDATIONS   

Ryan shows the progress being made on this rocky, sloping location. Concrete is pumped down the hill, then poured into frames, while more rebar is added for strength all around. Thanks to Versa Construction for the ICF  work!

Lake Muskoka TRUSSES   

A wintry day perhaps, but still a great time to work outside framing the decks. A bit of a milestone as the trusses are delivered and we continue to make real progress on this exceptional CedarCoast cottage,  Thanks to Home Building Centre in Gravenhurst!
